Lesson Structure
Objective-Driven Learning
Each lesson is structured around a series of goals we hope you will achieve by the end of the session, I then teach you the ins-and-outs whilst driving on local roads, so as to give you the best chance of achieving every one of those aims!
My lessons typically begin with a discussion about the previous lesson, and how we could incorporate additional aims into the current lesson so as to build on any aspects of your driving you would like more experience with.
Emphasis on Practical Driving
I'm keen on spending as much time as possible on the road during my lessons, as we feel this builds confidence and road-awareness.
You will likely be driving on local roads from your very first session, and will be driving all the way home within a few lessons!
Progress Evaluations
During a lesson, I revisit the goals set at the start of the lesson regularly, to gauge your confidence and provide you with feedback. This allows us to focus on any actions or concepts you may be struggling with, and adapt the session to help you succeed.
At the end of every lesson, we review the session together and discuss what went well, which of the aims you achieved, and show you how you have developed. I will encourage you to identify aspects of your driving you’d like to spend more time on and note this down, to incorporate into next-sessions goals.
All of these notes are available to you at any time in a mobile app, which allows you to revise and further your learning outside of our driving lessons.
Adaptive Learning
I recognise that all students learn differently; in different ways, at different speeds, so if a goal is not achieved at the end of the lesson, or if you’d like more time to focus on something in particular, I will work that into later lessons until you’ve achieved that goal, and feel comfortable and confident on the road.
I use visual apps, video tools, and other online content to develop your understanding and further improve your driving ability. So if you’re a visual learner, or a reader, or need something spoken to you to internalise it, I’ve got all bases covered!
